Description

The magic of the Gibb River Road, Mitchell Plateau and El Questro Station

Itinerary

A region often referred to as “Australia’s Last Wilderness”, the magnificent Kimberley in the North-West of Western Australia is big in more than one way: Geographically, the area is the size of the England, Scotland, Wales, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland and Denmark combined – approximately 425,000 km2, but the population in this vast expanse is less than 45,000. There are some of the oldest rock formations found anywhere in the world; geologists refer to unimaginable timeframes of four billion years! Dozens of endemic and endangered species of flora and fauna can be found here and visitors are afforded priceless experiences when travelling to this remote corner of the country. Take the journey, come up here and let MyAussieHoliday take you off the beaten track – literally. There is no place like the Kimberley!
