The Top End includes many well-known and magical national parks such as Kakadu, Arnhemland, Litchfield, Katherine and many other world-class wilderness areas in between. But the region not only offers a stunning natural scenery and adventure country, the culture and history of the Aboriginal people who have lived here for thousands of years add another intriguing and interesting facet to your holiday in Australia’s Top End. The climate makes it best to travel from April to early November, but many parts of the far North can be discovered year round. Northern Territory – You won’t know if you don’t go!

DAY 1

Darwin
Be welcomed on arrival in Darwin and transferred to your hotel.
Stay: Darwin – Travelodge Mirambeena Resort, [Budget], Novotel Atrium [Standard], Mantra Pandanas [First-Class].

DAY 2

Kakadu, Rock Art, Yellow Water
Travel into World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. Visit Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre, learning the stories and legends of Kakadu’s Aboriginal owners. Join a guided cruise on Yellow Water billabong, keeping a look out for crocodiles and birds. After lunch explore ancient Aboriginal rock art sites at Nourlangie Rock.
Two Night Stay: Kakadu National Park – APT Exclusive Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Lodge * includes dinner & breakfast, Aurora Kakadu, Standard Room [Budget], Aurora Kakadu, Superior Room [Standard], Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn [First-Class]. [L]

DAY 3

Arnhem Land by 4WD
Board a 4WD and travel through the escarpments, forests, floodplains and billabongs of Arnhem Land. Learn about traditional land ownership, bush skills and hunting techniques from your Aboriginal guides. Visit the remote Mikinj Valley area and explore the Oenpelli Aboriginal settlement and its famous art gallery [Monday-Friday]. Then, with special permission, visit an ancient burial site. [L]

DAY 4

Ubirr Art Site, Guluyambi Cruise
View Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr. After lunch join the Guluyambi Cruise with an Aboriginal guide, enjoy a short walk into Arnhem Land. Return to Darwin, arriving at approximately 20 PM.

DAY 5

Katherine Gorge Cruise, Leliyn [Edith Falls]
Explore the Adelaide River War Cemetery then enter Nitmiluk National Park and enjoy a guided cruise of Katherine Gorge. Follow with a swim at Leliyn. [L]

DAY 6

Litchfield National Park, Wangi Falls
Today discover Litchfield National Park. Stop to view magnetic termite mounds and see the picturesque Florence and Tolmer falls. On arrival at Wangi Falls, there’s time for a refreshing swim or a nature walk.

DAY 7

- Darwin
Enjoy free time before a transfer to Darwin Airport or railway station.
